I am going to be a singer.
But I just got accepted into a culinary arts school in Italy. Yes I do speak Italian (I’m Italian) and I want to go so bad. I have always had a dream of owning my own bakery and bread shop. But Next year I will have to choose what to do.
How can I still become a singer with culinary arts. Do you think it is possible?
So happy for you!
Whatever your dream is you can do it….
What I’ve learned over the years is that if you decide you want to be in any food business you may as well move inside your work place because you have to put in such long hours. The business end of it is important too you need time to take care of all the paperwork that is required to run the business. If you can deal with these things then more power to you it’s a wonderful fulfilling career.
I like the singing career to be honest. It might not be as hard on your body as the bakery job. You have to lift heavy pans and equipment in the bakery it’s not just standing there and decorating little cupcakes and doing light weight jobs. it’s very strenuous. I don’t want to sound down about this choice of work but you need to know what you are getting into before you spend all the money on your schooling.
Or you can be a singing baker! LOL Seriously best wishes in whatever you decide to do. My grandparents came from Italy so I wish I could trade places with you and visit the country too.
Bye for now,

let me know how you make out with your decision I’d love to know

Does anyone know how much it is it participate in that 60-week program or college?
If not, is le cordon bleu a good culinary school? any experiences? please share.
I was looking to go there a couple of years ago and it was 42k+ and most culinary schools help you find financial aid or loans. I would recomend actualy filling out a form online and request info from them, they will send you a package or call you. The Le Cordon Blue Institutes are very prestigous schools. If I did have to move to a different city I would be going to one right now.

My husband really wanted to go to culinary school but things didn't work out. He worked several jobs to put himself through school and still couldn't afford to go. He went to a local college for a business degree instead but still regrets it to this day.
I was thinking of getting him a Johnson and Wales book for his birthday as he has been talking about it a lot again lately.
The only textbooks I can find are the ones for high schools.
Does anyone have any titles of any currently used books that the university uses for its culinary program or know where I can get them online?
There used to be a Johnson and Wales university bookstore website, but it looks like it is offline. Should have bought when I saw it!
That is not what I am asking. People make decisions in their life for many reasons, and that is not what the question is about. That was quite a few years ago and there have been medical issues since that make it not feasible in the foreseeable future to be physically able to do so..
It doesn't matter to me if someone else thinks its a waste or didn't find value in a book.
Why are you spending money on books for a school he can't afford to go to? Instead put that money in a savings account so that he can one day go there (no one is ever to old to do what they love). I had a friend go there and all of her books are basically just fancy cookbooks and you would be better off buying something from amazon.com.

So I joined the culinary arts club at my high school today and they asked for people to design some sort of t-shirt if they want to.
I was thinking it would say on the front "I love culinary arts club…". Then on the back there would be a picture of a cake, possibly with a heart around it, and below it would say "…like a fat boy loves cake."
I think it's pretty good, but it might be offensive to overweight people. So is this too offensive and does anyone have any other funny ideas?
Thanks.
i like your idea but i think your right today pepole get offended very easily and so heres my suggestion. you could have a heart on the back of it and have the heart filled with different things like a pot and pan, a chef hat, a cake, different utensils and etc. on the front just put a small or medium logo that says ( –your schools name–) high school culinary club or you could get your school mascot and put a chef hat on it and again just put culinary club on it. hope that helps! good luck and have fun!
