I am going into grade 11 and I need to pick classes but I don't know what I need to take. I want to go for my Bachelor of Science (major in chemistry) and then apply to med school. This is what is confusing me…
Semester 1
——————
English 111
Geometry and Applications 111 (requirement or F&R)
History 111 (school requirement)
Chemistry 111
Physics 111
Semester 2
—————–
English 111
Functions and Relations 111
Chemistry 121
Physics 121
( 5th period – possiblities are: French, Child Studies, Family Living, Visual Arts, Culinary Tech – do univeristies like second languages? – I would rather do something else though?)
Then Grade 12 would be
Semester 1
—————–
English 121
AP Physics
AP Chem
(some type of tech – stupid school requirement)
- Math 120 (advance math with an intro to calculus / or trigonometry and 3 – space (what are these?)
Semester 2
—————–
AP English
AP Calculus (maybe)
(Co-Op – is this
respected to universities?)
+ I could add french 11 to the 1st of grade 12 and then 12 french 2nd and write my bilingual exam – or I could do classes I want and make last semester senior year easier ?
Im in 9th grade so I can't help you much. I just advice you to get a good grade in chemistry……………

okay well i had the worst first day of high scholl and i got classes i don't want. i got french instead of spanish when i live Arizona!! i tried to change my classes but they said there was no room in Spanish. So should i change to Culinary Arts or some other class like that or what??
imagine if this was YOU.
thanks for help. ![]()
Stick with French and try Spanish NEXT year.
They are soooo similar that if you know French, Spanish will be easy to pick up.
And culinary arts is a bit of a blow off and not worth a whole lot to you – unless you have NO idea how to cook and need to learn.

Well i was trying to get into the foods class because i want to go to the Culinary school in PEI because i want to be a chef and own my own restaurant well i need all 3 courses in high school inorder to get in (grade10,11 and 12 foods classes)
Well i couldn’t get into the class because everyone takes that class in grade 10 because it’s so easy so my alternative for any of my electives was vocals so now im in a vocals class when i really need to take foods!
If i went to my guidance counsillor do you think they would put me in the foods class if i need it for the career i want?
Thanks
Anna
um,
YEA!!
theyre supposed to, thats what their job is..!
im absoloutly more than sure that theyll change it for you if you tell them its for your future career. Plus, i bet none of those students in that class kno what theyre doing when they get older =]
